The founding of the eCommerce Brigade
How 30 years’ experience in international eCommerce projects led to the founding of eCommerce Brigade GmbH – and why our name says it all.

With nearly 30 years’ experience in international software projects for internet and eCommerce applications, across a wide variety of organisations, and having held roles in requirements, project and quality management, it was only natural for me to in early 2025, when the opportunity arose, to take the step – which was by no means a foregone conclusion at the time – of founding eCommerce Brigade GmbH.
The aim is to provide clients operating internationally with professional project support in the development and further refinement of sophisticated B2B eCommerce platforms.

Our name says it all!
Even in my youth, and particularly during my school days, the brigade held a very special significance for me.
In the enterprises, workers collaborated in what were known as ‘brigades’. These symbolised solidarity and a shared sense of purpose in achieving specific economic and collective objectives. Against this backdrop, brigades in state-owned enterprises were usually named after a prominent figure from contemporary history or public life.
In addition, there was a so-called ‘sponsor brigade’ for every school class in what was then the POS, the general-education polytechnic secondary school.
This group from a local business provided us pupils with both advice and practical support. Its members supported us children and young people on our journey through school towards adulthood. Joint events, such as Christmas parties or social brigade afternoons, were organised, at which we young people also had the chance to showcase our knowledge and cultural skills. Members of the partner brigade regularly help us organise walking days or school trips. These businesses often offered older pupils the opportunity to take on holiday work or to start an apprenticeship at the company after finishing school.
I was able to forge such close personal relationships with individual members of our sponsored brigade that they have remained a valuable part of my life right up to the present day, as an adult and a family man.
In this respect, our eCommerce Brigade is committed to pursuing a common goal with enthusiasm and a spirit of teamwork, to provide professional support to our clients and partners through our brigade’s comprehensive expertise in the software development of eCommerce applications, so that they may derive the greatest possible benefit for the development of their online business from our innovative work.
For this reason, the insight offered by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry – a pilot and philosopher whom I hold in high esteem – is so perfectly suited to our brigade, which he immortalised in *The City in the Desert*:
“If you want to build a ship, do not round up men to gather timber, prepare tools, assign tasks and organise the work; instead, instil in them a longing for the vast, endless sea!”
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
Behind the scenes of our website
In no time at all, we designed and launched our website for the eCommerce Brigade.
With our characteristic enthusiasm and the professionalism we are known for, we have developed a vision, compiled the content, organised it and created a friendly, appealing and modern design.
The aim of our website is to demonstrate the comprehensive nature of our decades of experience and the services we offer based on this experience in the areas of consultancy, project management, development, quality assurance and the operation of eCommerce solutions, and to highlight that our work is always centred on our clients, their requirements and the entire project team.

It is also particularly important to us that the photographs, developed in collaboration with our partner agency Étoile Agency, convey a sense of authenticity and our collegial working relationship, and demonstrate just how important a respectful working environment is to us.
Our Colour & Design Concept
We are also particularly proud of our logo and the harmonious, well-coordinated colour scheme. After all, these reflect our love of aesthetics and our zest for life.
As every colour carries a particular vibration and thus creates a specific mood in us as human beings, we attach particular importance to the choice of colours in our brand identity. We have therefore chosen the primary colours orange, green and white for our website, as we find them particularly appealing.
What do these stand for?
- Orange symbolises warmth, energy and vitality; purposeful actions guided by our intellect; persuasiveness, perseverance and the will to survive; the interplay between thought and feeling; and understanding and balance.
- The colour green represents our heart chakra, which symbolises connections and a sense of belonging, as well as qualities such as naturalness, personal growth and adaptability, and knowledge and wisdom.
- White symbolises the divine spark in the form of a vision of the world as we perceive it. It is the colour that unites all others within itself and thereby expresses unity and harmony.
The eCommerce Brigade is a registered trademark
To enable us to share our enthusiasm and vision with the world, we have registered ‘eCommerce Brigade’ as a word and figurative mark with the German Patent and Trade Mark Office, something of which we are very proud.
